YOGA AND MUSIC SUMMER SCHOOL
Sun. 13 August – Thu. 17 August 2017
Kirtan or mantra chanting is an integral part of yoga. The experience of sound expands the physical sensation of the asanas, the breath deepens without effort, and the purity of the melodies fascinate and focus the mind.
With Shankara Schneider and teachers of the Sivananda Yoga Retreat House
Group mantra chanting
Daily practice of dynamic songs and meditative hymn.
Group introduction to playing the harmonium
This instrument, which originated in Europe, has been a staple of Indian music culture for many decades. An easy-to-learn technique will enable you to accompany simple kirtans in a short time.
Shankara Schneider is a student of Swami Vishnudevananda. He practiced Indian instrumental music and teaches Kirtan chanting with natural devotion and humour.
