Further education: The Yoga of Sleep

Certificate of participation for 37 teaching units of 45 minutes each 

 

The nature of sleep, dreams and consciousness are the topics of this 3-day workshop.

You will gain a deeper understanding of the health benefits of sleep and dreams and learn practical tips on how to overcome sleeplessness, fatigue and depression.

The workshop also covers dream interpretation and shows how to relieve post-traumatic nightmares.

Dr. Naiman explains the spiritual dimension of dreams and sleep as well as the nature of consciousness – shedding a fascinating light on the natural practice of sleep.

Short biography

Rubin Naiman, PhD is an internationally recognized leader in sleep and dream health. He is the sleep specialist and clinical assistant professor of medicine at the world-renowned University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine directed by Dr. Andrew Weil. He is also director of Circadian Health Associates, an organization that provides information, goods and services in support of sleep health.

 

Dr. Naiman has maintained a private psychology practice for more than twenty-five years and has worked as a consultant to businesses and organizations. For most of the past 20 years, he has focused on sleep and dream health services and products.

 

Dr. Naiman has given hundreds of public and professional presentations on a wide range of topics related to sleep and dreams, spirituality, stress, psychological aspects of illness, consciousness, creativity, and shadow work. He is comfortable in the public eye and widely acknowledged for his engaging and deeply informative, yet lighthearted style. Dr. Naiman’s clinical work, professional trainings, and public presentations consistently receive strong accolades.

  • 4 pm Asana and pranayama class
  • 6 pm Vegetarian dinner
  • 8 pm Evening meditation, mantra chanting and course meeting

 

Tuesday and Wednesday, 15 & 16 August

  • 6 – 7:30 am Morning meditation, mantra chanting, talk
  • 8 – 9:30 am Asana and pranayama class
  • 10 am Vegetarian brunch
  • 12 – 3 pm Course lecture/workshop (with break)
  • 4 – 5:45 pm Course lecture/workshop
  • 6 pm Vegetarian dinner
  • 8 pm Evening meditation, mantra chanting, talk

Room and board

Room and board are in the non-smoking eco-hotel serving wholesfood organic vegetarian meals.
All guest rooms have wooden floors and furniture, health mattresses, shower, toilet, hairdryer, telephone and radio. Most rooms have a balcony. more

What you will need for your stay

A meditation pillow for the morning and evening meditation sessions is recommended. A meditation shawl is also advantageous. 

 

To practice the yoga poses you will need a non-slip yoga mat or wool mat. You will need a blanket to cover yourself at the end of the yoga class during the so-called final relaxation.

 

Pillows, shawls, blankets, mats and much more can be purchased in our online shop or in our boutique after arrival.

 

For your stay you should bring comfortable clothing, slippers, walking shoes, rain gear, torch (flashlight), bathing suit and towels. Eyeglass wearers should bring a hard case for safe storage during the yoga classes.
